Golden South Wind Facility
The Golden South Wind Facility in Assiniboia, Sask. started
operations in 2022. This wind facility has a power capacity
of 200 MW. Potentia Renewables owns and manages the
facility, selling SaskPower the power it produces. This is
the province’s largest wind generation facility to date.
The facility, which has a 25+ year lifespan, includes 50
wind turbines and can generate enough power for up to
100,000 homes. To lower environmental impacts from the
construction of the wind farms, it was built in an area with
fewer migration paths and less vegetation.
