Power Play
DO YOU REMEMBER sending your 昀椀rst email? I’ll never forget it. The task we take
for granted today seemed too good to be true. It made everything and everyone
more accessible. I had a similar sensation when introduced to this 昀氀ipbook
format. It feels easy and environmentally responsible, with limitless possibilities
when it comes to value added links. The media industry has undergone a massive
metamorphosis, especially when you factor in the advent of arti昀椀cial intelligence.
Similarly, the power industry is undergoing an enormous transformation.
Changemakers are busy stickhandling the transition to a clean energy economy.
Larry Fink, CEO of BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager, is calling on
shareholders to play a role in decarbonization, saying that few things will impact the
long-term value of companies more than how e昀昀ectively they navigate the energy
transition. Mark Carney, the former governor of the Bank of Canada and the United
Nations special envoy for climate action, recently emphasized that the global energy
transition is at an important in昀氀ection point — and
that “Canada can be a clean energy superpower.”
The Government of Canada is bullish on
decarbonization and electri昀椀cation while the clean
energy market has never been more poised to provide
an assist in meeting environmental targets.
